Step by step from Hotmail to Gmail
Open your Google account and store the username and password at a safe place so that you don’t forget them. Open the Hotmail account saving the contacts list as .CSV (dot-CSV) file by opening the contact folder, selecting “options” and “Export Contacts” in the list. Going back to Gmail account click on “contacts” located at the upper left side of Gmail page. Click on the word “import” and then “browse” respectively and you will find your CSV files imported. Invite contacts to create their Gmail account and tell them your new address by clicking “compose” with a clear subject line. With receipt of each confirmation email the new gmail address of recipient would show up in your contact list.
Enabling Gmail from Hotmail
Going to the Gmail account one is to select settings/accounts and click the “add mail account you own” tab. Microsoft is now offering free POP3 access to Hotmail accounts combined with Gmail. It lets us import mail from the POP3 account. Enabling Gmail interface from Hotmail account from the hotmail account and vice versa is the advantage one derives with the process. It means it is now possible to migrate to Gmail directly from Hotmail in result.
