The following guidelines should be followed:
- Go to the website of Hotmail and enter your username and password and “sign in”. You will be taken to your inbox by clicking on the left hand side button on your screen.
- To open up the email you want to reply to, you can click on the name of the sender or the message column.
- The top of the screen will display the “Reply” option. Click it and a text message body will appear. Type your message in the space provided.
- You can save your message in a folder. For this, you need to create a new folder by clicking on “Folders” and then on “New”. These buttons will appear on the left side of the Hotmail screen. Creating folders lead to better organization of emails. If you do not wish to save the message you can press “X” in red, located on the top of the screen.
- You can also use “Move” option to move the emails in the desired folders appearing on the left hand side of the screen.
- If you wish to share an email with others, “Forward” option is handy. Click on the “Forward” option located inside the email itself and then click “Send”. You need to specify the email address of the recipient. A message stating your mail has been sent shall appear if you are successful.
- For composing a new message, click “New”, enter the email address of the recipient, type your message and then press “Send”.
- You can delete an unwanted or unsolicited email by checking in the box appearing next to it and then click “Spam”.
