Instructions For Stopping All The Ads In Hotmail
- Go to the settings in your hotmail account.
- Select the filters and rules.
- Click new rule and then select FROM TEMPLATE
- In the same dialog box, select apply rule after the mail arrives and click next.
- In the first step of the wizard that opens, select the options Delete the mail as it arrives and click next
- In the second step, scroll through the available options and select the option “containing specific words in the senders address or body”
- In the same dialog box, click on the link that appears and type in Promotions, advertisements, ads, lottery, buy, and all other common words that appear in a typical ad. You can also come back later using edit rule to add more words that appear in the ads that still manage to get into the inbox. Copy the special words and add it to the same link. For each word you type in, you need to click on the ADD button so that it is added to the rule. The words are displayed in a larger box just below the text box where you type the words.
- Click ok and then click next.
- You may also specify exclusions if you want. For example, if you do not want an email that contains some special words in the subject to be deleted, you can select the option in this step and add those words.
- Click next and then Apply.
Now that the rules are set, the mails containing ads will be automatically deleted as soon as they arrive to your hotmail account.
