If a user has multiple emails accounts and wishes to check all his accounts from the hotmail account it is perfectly possible with the features provided in Hotmail. In this way the user do not have to access different accounts to check the email he or she might have received from desired contacts.
Checking Process
Logging on to the Hotmail Account the user should click on the “options” button and then go on to “send and receive mail from other email accounts”. Next he or she would select “add a POP3 account”. Thereafter entering the settings for the new email account it has to be saved. In result the mails from other accounts will get transported to the Hotmail account. It depends on the user whether the messages so received would be retained or forwarded or even deleted.
Points to Check out
It is absolutely necessary that the other email account from which the messages are being transferred has the ability to forward mails to the Hotmail account. Otherwise the “forward to Hotmail” option may also work for the users. Going to the email account that the user desires to check out he or she should open it. Thereafter selecting the “options” tab they could also select “email forwarding”. When prompted, the Hotmail account address has to be entered in the box provided and thereafter the user would select the option “forward”. Mails can be forwarded and stored or deleted on the server.
Warnings for users
When the user does not desire logging on to the accounts from which the emails are being forwarded to Hotmail account, they should select the option “Forward and Delete”. Necessity of this step is as a precautionary measure to prevent your inbox being filled with emails from the other account.
